The Sprint

A five-day commitment that replaces six months of debate.

One facilitator, one decision-maker, one cross-functional team. Pre-work for two weeks, five days in the room (or remote), and a 30-day follow-up to keep the commitment on track.

What is a Design Sprint?

A Design Sprint is a process for rapidly creating new products, new features for existing services, or solutions to big challenges. Its biggest benefit is compressing what could be months of work into a single week.

During an intensive working week, ideas are refined into a concept, a prototype is built from it, and the prototype is validated with test users.

Format

5 consecutive days, in-person or remote

Team

5–7 people including a Decider

Investment

Quoted per engagement

DAY

01

Align on the real decision

Most teams aren't stuck on ideas. They're stuck on what to commit to. Day one gets leadership aligned on the actual decision in front of you, the system around it (users, business, biosphere), and the long-term goal it should serve. By the end of the day, the team is arguing about the right thing.

  • Shared decision frame
  • Stakeholder map (incl. people & planet)
  • Long-term goal & sprint question

DAY

02

Explore the option space

Open up the directions before narrowing down. Each participant sketches concrete options individually, with people and planet treated as primary stakeholders, not afterthoughts. Lightning demos from regenerative design, biomimicry, and circular product playbooks expand the team's sense of what's possible.

  • Lightning demos
  • Individual solution sketches
  • Structured critique

DAY

03

Decide where to focus

Converge fast on the one call with the highest leverage for the business, your users, and the planet. The Decider commits. No committees, no deck reviews. The team leaves Wednesday with clarity on what to focus on and, just as importantly, what to stop debating.

  • Owned decision & storyboard
  • Decision rationale
  • What we're not doing

DAY

04

Prototype the decision

Make the decision tangible enough to react to. In 24 hours we build a realistic prototype, not a wireframe, that captures the chosen direction and the trade-offs behind it. Something a real user, a board member, or a sustainability lead can stand in front of and respond to honestly.

  • Realistic prototype
  • Interview script
  • Test plan

DAY

05

Validate & commit

Test the decision against reality on both fronts: five live user interviews, plus a structured planetary stress test (lifecycle, externalities, rebound effects). You leave Friday with a validated direction, a defensible impact thesis, and a roadmap your team can run with on Monday.

  • User insights
  • Impact thesis
  • 30-day roadmap
