About Janne Kalliola
Janne Kalliola is the founder of Exove, a developer since 1983, and father of three children to whom he wants to inherit an inhabitable planet – therefore, he is also an evangelist of green coding.
Janne grew Exove from a single man operation to 80+ people. During this time, the company served hundreds of clients from multinational giants to early stage startups. Prior to founding Exove, Janne worked as a Product Development Director and Head Architect in startups.
He is a frequent speaker about green coding, eco-efficient ICT, and energy consumption of the IT industry. He trains developers to change the way how they code by taking energy consumption into consideration. Janne has built a green IT maturity model to assess any organisations IT policies against the threat posed by the climate change.
He is also the chairman of the board of Code from Finland association, and has been the key person in developing and launching the association's Carbon Neutral software company label.
Janne graduated from Helsinki University of Technology with master's and licentiate's degrees in computer science. He is author of the book titled "Green Code".
